General information

Training season

The training season usually starts and ends at the end and beginning of the summer school holidays in Luxembourg – meaning generally from mid-September to mid-July.
There is no training on public holidays and during the school holidays in Luxembourg.

Trainers

All our trainers hold certifications that attest to their professionalism and their ability to master their specialist field and teach it effectively. You can find out more about them in the ‘About Us’ section or by speaking to them directly during a trial lesson.

Training groups

Even if an age group is specified for many training sessions, we are also adaptable as long as the gymnast’s abilities allow this.
For ‘Advanced’ groups, a minimum age is often required, but above all, it is the existing skills that determine whether a member is accepted.
The coaches responsible for the group ultimately decide whether an exception applies or whether the member would be better supported in another group.

All groups are limited to a certain number of participants. It may happen that this number is exceeded and subscription via our member portal is then no longer possible. If this is the case, please contact us directly with your inquiry (contact@gymmaacher.lu) and we will try to find a solution together.
A change from one training group to another is also possible during the season, but should first be discussed with the responsible coaches.

Some training rules

In order to provide a safe and effective training environment, we kindly request that the following rules be observed:

  • Punctuality: please arrive on time for training – the coaches will open the outside door of the sports hall a few minutes before the start of training.
  • Outside door: The hall regulations prohibit wedging the outside door. For safety and maintenance reasons, it must be closed every time.
  • Sports hall: The sports hall floor may only be entered with clean sports shoes, socks or bare feet.
  • Sportswear: During training, all gymnasts should wear tight-fitting yet elasticated sports trousers (leggings/shorts) and tops. Various sports shops offer special gymnastics suits for little money.
  • Hair: Long hair should either be tied back in a bun with a hair tie or in a braided hairstyle. Please do not use sharp-edged or pointed hair clips.
  • Feet: tight socks or bare feet. Caution, there is a risk of slipping with lots of socks. Special gymnastics slippers or caps are only required for rhythmic gymnastics. The coaches will be happy to advise you.
  • Jewellery: No jewellery should be worn during training – not even a watch. This could result in injury and damage. It is best to leave it at home. Tight-fitting earrings are permitted.
  • Food & drink: During the mostly short training sessions, you don’t really need any food. Exceptions would be training sessions lasting over 2 hours.
Gymnasts should eat a healthy meal before training. A bottle of water should be brought as a drink (no juice or sugary drinks).
Chewing gum or sweets are forbidden during training!
